The lasting friendship

I knew it in the beginning.

I knew it in the end.

I knew it right away,

That you were my friend.

It made me wonder

How I could deserve this?

But sometimes,

You've just got to earn it.

Friendship is a gift that is well preserved.

It goes up and down; it curves.

It goes side to side; it jerks.

But you're always there for each other;

That's what counts.

Even when

You have troubles or doubts.
