Lasting Spark
I don’t pretend to know
The ways to make this right,
The ways to fix the broken,
I simply lack the might.
But lend to me the keys,
Show me how it’s done,
Unveil all your secrets,
The power of just one.
The melody is purest
When two halves are a whole,
I’ll rub my hands together,
Light a fire in your soul.
My kiss will be the matches,
My touch will be the air,
My gaze will take down branches,
And leave this forest bare.
No longer will you stand there,
A lost forgotten mind,
Your questions of the truth,
I’ll unravel and unwind.
I’ll chip away your wall,
Bring you down from your high pole,
I’ll find my way inside you,
And climb into your soul.
We’ll rest in here together,
Shut behind us all our doors,
We’ll feed off of each other,
Needing nothing more.
