Late night

Late night, restless in my head, summer heat all over my bed. I yearn for air, gasp for light waking up all sweaty in the middle of the night Nightmares daunt the corners of the room yet sunshine comes too soon. Chasing away the shadows, drunk on the light, I get up after a bad night Another day, more tired than before, I drag myself towards every daily chore. Waiting for the evening, the moment of freedom and promising to sleep longer, I once again can't seem to go down under the sheets of my bed to embrace sleep, rather clinging to something futile searching for something deep
