Late Night Inquiries

I lay half awake

trying to slip into sleep,

but then comes a shake

and I trip into a beat.

In begotten moments where

out of nowhere,

out of style,

out of grace,

out of beguile,

appears a question to share.

Where did it come from?

I do not know.

An answer then some;

it goes to show

that inspiration stumbles in

out of nowhere,

out of style,

out of grace,

out of beguile,

and it'll be gone by late night's end.
