late night laundry

An hour and nineteen minutes can seem so long

its not enough time to fall asleep,

but then again why would u want to;

to fall asleep with no sense of comfort

nothing to pull at when restless;

    nothing to hide in,

or from.

falling asleep without comfort, a bad dream.

Only an hour and nineteen minutes

Enough to keep you anxious

cleaning to keep u busy,

scanning every surface for imperfections,

checking seven times that the oven is.         indeed. off

Over processing every single action,

                Every thought, down to the individual neurons.

you think, you clean, u scan,

… distracting yourself for only a fourth of the time...

An hour and nineteen minutes can seem so long.

One hour and nineteen minutes

just long enough to stare at walls

just long enough to let ur mind wander-

to overthink silly phrases like “Go Big or Go Home”

Why would anyone want to go big when u can go home?

Home to comfort,

Home to…

cold, wet, lifeless, comfort…

An hour and nineteen minutes can seem so long.
