Later


Fury 
    gathers force, 
straining my residual 
    gullibility. 

Why this pretense offered -- 
    and accepted ? 

When "Let's talk" 

    means 
"Let's not, but pretend I 
    didn't say that." 

When "Later" 
    grants reprieve 
from here and now. 

Surely, Geneva sanctions                                                        

     murder 

and outlaws saccharine poisoning 
    of souls?
