laughing
distorted organs of transparent living room walls.
i spend half my time alone now.
i paint a famous woman with a stylish, ink hand
silhouettes come from the limits of the square i live in.
it's time
to allow my unfiltered self to live here, in a house with creaky hundreds of years flooring.
i had long moved to live in a gingerbread box
down on savile road in gloucester.
the distance of nine clouds, where i myself lift myself with nitrous oxide.
you'll be happy to know,
i have since breached addiction,
i gave it to jane, who i think will quite like it.
i no longer believe it can hurt me to put me in the square, with my famous women.
i'm not an unoiled artificial intelligence anymore,
i can string my face in
more figurations than one of masquerade.
that's wonderful.
---
and yes, i did cry
running up that hill.
last tuesday actually.
only because it hit a true string, because i very much like kate,
made a deal with god.
the agreement is that i paint the sky pink and gold,
and i let go of false idols.
in return, i get to express.
so here i'm laughing, to show that the business went through.
here i laugh without nitrous oxide.
