Laughing with Monsters
Her teeth were bared, lips bloodred, sneering and eased
His horns arched like a great oryx, black and shiny
They howled with laughter, unfurling feathered wings
And I sat with them as I threw my head back, cackling
Sometimes she runs, swift as an arrow, tail lashing
Sometimes he seems to glide without a sound, smiling
They seem so pecuilar, strange, and absoutely terrfying
And yet I dance in the meadows by their sides, giggling
Her eyes glow brillant white, yet I see a twinkle in them
His mouth holds teeth like daggers, wicked and hooked
They have hands pointed like claws, so inhuman and strange
And yet here I am, holding on, eyes closed in trust and peace
For even though anyone else would see monster and beasts
I can't help but realize how kind they are, these creatures
No matter how odd, have hearts and souls akin to mine
And so I shall enjoy their prescence, and share a laugh
Me and my monsters, existing, playing, and giggling
