Lazy Love

A connection was made But it was never lost A connection is a connection Whether we like it or not The brain cannot conceive Without a known explanation But the heart wants what the heart wants And that‘s a love destination We all say that love is blind But the hearts open to interpretation And that’s why we cry That’s why we go back to the start We speak as if we were aware of the damage Like we were smart Then, and we always will be Love is just love And sometimes it’s filthy Dirty and grimy And nasty and foolish We go back expecting a different outcome Like the first time wasn't enough Like the next time around We’ll find the missing piece of our hearts And maybe just maybe This time we can attain lovely peace Little do we know this game? Will leave us in pieces We’ll look at our reflections And we won’t be the same Forever changed and burdened Let’s talk about love at first sight That doesn't hurt so much We’ll act like it’s new This time we’ll rush And to the past we’ll say “Goodbye, I've learned, I've grown, and I’m grown Here is me,” They say I’m wrong and pathetic But all I’ll say is, “guilty” “Appearance isn't everything” Is the lie we’re told It’s what’s inside that really matters So develop that, let it grow What they don’t know is this Love is an evil entity Entitled and gross Let’s talk about looks in relation to pain We don’t like who we are Because we don’t want to stay the same We’ll change We’ll mold Grow old And die Love is just love And love is a lie
