Lead and Ink
I picked up my lead and ink.
I tried to paint my life.
Paints and pastels color me,
But the inside is night.
Dust collects on my heart,
And darkness appears with time.
My once empty canvas is stained with black.
Hells heart pounded with mine.
Then you came with your lead and ink.
You primed my heart with cleansing white,
And drew beautiful swerves across the plain.
You dared to call me the light of your life,
I let love control me again.
My life is drawn with your experienced hands,
Your lead reflects my deepest thoughts.
You saw the unlimited possibilities on my blank canvas,
You chose what was most me and left what I was not.
Your ink intertwined my life with yours,
I will never be alone.
You filled my life with love and light,
You gave me a chance to atone.
How I love your lead and ink.
