Lead Bullets

Pencils flitting,

Flying, scratching, marking,

Bearing desperate ideas,

Born on lead wings,

Scribbled quickly,

Abandoned in the trash,

Ideas that will never be,

New inventions we’ll never see,

A collection of graphite,

Spread across a page,

Reaching out across blank vast planes,

Cursive,

Blocky or illegible,

Inked across a canvas,

Left to be inferred,

To create is no easy task,

Born from mind to paper,

Written fast and quick,

Words flying round and round,

Before the clock can tick,

Writing what we know,

Or can never understand,

The ability to create,

Is held right in your hand,

Doodle as you might,

Draw flowers at your will,

But please, I must heed you,

Your words can kill.
