It was 9 days until graduation when I wrote this. Where has the time gone? But seriously, I remember telling everyone Freshman year “guys this is going to go by so fast, before we know it we'll be seniors”. I look back to when I was a freshman and notice how much I've grown, how much I've been through, and it's just so wild to think of how much can occur in just four years. Throughout high school I've learned so much. Not just about school, but about life. I've learned how to laugh at myself. How to not worry so much. How to be myself. I've discovered parts of who I am. I've learned what it's like to have a broken heart. I've learned what it's like to be in love. I've learned that no matter how bad things get, it will always get better. I've learned that pleasing other people should not be the objective. I've learned that people will always have something to bitch about, and people will always talk shit. I've learned to surround myself with positive people that I can have fun with. I've learned there is always people that will try to pull you down. I've learned how to be passionate about something. I've learned to set high goals, and work hard to achieve them. I've learned to act crazy, and be myself because you're wasting originality if you're just acting like everyone else. It doesn't matter what others think of you, as long as you're proud of yourself. I've learned that life is hardly ever fair; you have to take what you get and make the best of it. I've learned judging people is stupid because you don't know what they've been through, you don't know every detail of their life so you have no right to make assumptions. I've learned that mistakes are inevitable; it's fine as long as you learn from it. I've learned that life is what you make of it, if you have a poor attitude then you won't enjoy yourself, if you stay optimistic, you'll have a great time. I've learned that being a kid is awesome. I've learned to cherish the memories while they are happening, because in the future you will look back on them and who knows what will be missing. Thinking that it is almost the end of this wonderful journey makes me sick to my stomach. But this wild ride has been too fantastic to ever forget. Of course, I can't wait to start something new and head off to college. But, I will always appreciate all of my high school experiences as well as all the people I was with, that have been with me through it all. Whether you've been by my side, or talking about me behind my back, it has made me stronger and shaped me into who I am today. High school is about more than the lessons you learn in class, it is about the experiences and what they teach you about life. I am proud to say I've lived every moment I could to the fullest, because as long as you have a blast, are around people you love and care about, and feel genuinely happy, that is all you can ask for in life. I'll miss high school. Some people don't think high school is a big deal, and can't wait to get the hell away from it. But the truth is it's not such a bad place if you separate yourself from all the bad things, it can be a pretty great time. Here's to a new chapter in my life: college. I hope to continue to live my life to the fullest and achieve all my dreams
