Learn to Define Yourself

Pencils snap

Students yap

We're waiting for Godot

Not quote sure, what we're supposed to know

Mom said, be a doctor

But hey, I love reading about John Proctor

We all strive for Gatsby's green light

Pushing our intellectual might

My teacher says, listen, this matters

Napolean was in tatters

I flip open to page eight

I've forgotten the weight

Of what everyone says you should hate

I remember to read to love

And learn to pursue

What will bring meaning to me and you
