learn to tie a knot

how long can I believe you

and how long can I mislead you

too many turns

through falling halls

miles and miles

of crumbling walls

a fortress of blood and bone

your final stand

and last stronghold

the nights are long

the days grow weary

sleep evasion

eyes are teary

and all through this

your mind is fury

can't you stop to catch a breath

but there's no oxygen here

you cry

with nothing to breathe, I'm left to die

I will leave you here in shambles

rambling on and on

and musing

'till death's strings play out

upon your heart

and she steals your ribs

one after the other

so I'll turn my blind eye

and I'll burn my black heart

watching now as you depart

on a ship bound for seas of rope and string

where birds sing your name ashore

a different way of living

didn't I tell you

that there are other ways to be?

sometimes I still hear things

the faint whisper

of your voice across the sea

you should always doubt your conscience

hunker down and bid good riddance

say goodbye to spider silk

and your forgotten threads
