Learning to Dance

This world is a cruel place

Atleast that's what I've been told

You can get used and absued

your parents say.

Stay away from drugs or else there will be hell to pay.

Go to church, say your prays or you will not be happy they say.

Moving away to college was the best day of my life.

But

I was used and absused

let my mind wander free

sometimes woke up not knowing where I was.

I didn't say my prayers, I didn't care I was having fun but I was really scared.

Woke up one moring in the middle of a dirt road, not fully clothed.

That's when I realized my parents were right, you have to be true to who you are to see the lught.

I changed my ways, but every now and again I start to slip.

I just have to remember I am only human and can make mistakes.

You just have to learn to dance in the rain and not let the storm over power you in the end.
