Learning to Learn

The good things about me,

Are few and far between.

Many men still like me,

Some treat me like a queen.

Women at me wonder,

How did she get this far?

Man after man fall,

Privy to my charms.

So to all you boys out there,

You want to be a man?

Come and test the waters,

FInd new uncharted lands.

But then the evil twist is clearly seen,

Even women cry and scream.

And as the wails from hell die down,

You see its me with a fiery crown.

Hounds at my heels,

Books in my hand.

Authors sit waiting,

For my command!

Funny how the tables turn,

Once the master,

Now the slave,

no more ashes in the urn.

Even as the passion dies,

He sees the embers in my eyes.

Knowing that he’s out of luck,

He stumbles in and out, a muck.

But whoa what a site!

As I see his face,

the pages vanish,

leaving not a trace.

children from their four legs rise,

Beauty shining in their eyes.

Once a tiny student sat,

Now an intelectual gazes back.

There is no time,

There is no place.

I cannot rise,

nor set a pace.

Love is but the young mans dreams,

Beauty is not what it seems.

The flesh is only skin and bone,

But knowledge lives forever long.

I cannot live another day,

I want to read this world away.

I just cannot go on this way,

This is the terrible price I pay.
