Learning Love
In the darkness of the night,
The truth comes to light.
The harsh slam of the door
Resonates in my soul.
I remember our last day so vividly
Sometimes I imagine you kissing me.
But, then I realize all the hurt you gifted me.
The lies and infidelity…
For years, I waited for you.
Sadly, you never came through.
For years, I cried in agony.
However, you always left gladly.
One day, eight years later,
I learned what love mean:
Resilience,
Patience,
Forgiveness.
Commitment,
Honesty,
Happiness.
My heart jumped with gladness,
Because I found love in me!
I overcame my sadness.
