Learning From a Storm

The sea rolls under a cloudy, dark sky

The wind fiercely pushes its way by

But instead of running, I think I might try

To enjoy it, so in the sand I lie.

The waves get rough, the sky grumbles deep

The lightning strikes me awake, when I drift off to sleep.

I know there is danger, but instead I keep

To watching the beauty that all emotions can reap.

The red sky swirls over the dark sea of blue

I hold to my heart that I will get through

Even now I know that above all things true

You never know what beauty there can be inside you.

Poets, may your days be the way you like them, whether rainy, sunny, or overcast with anticipation for a storm.
