Learning what hard work is

I am sitting in a room of occupied

chairs and book-pilled desk, trying to

concentrate on notes which I have

gathered for the upcoming test.

Few study, knowing they are unprepared,

taught by a man who simply did not care.

As I sit reflecting on his lack of teaching skill,

I am puzzled, how he graduated college

and is qualified to instruct me.

It seems unfair how he says it is extremely simple,

yet if we ask for his help he tells us that he is unable.

I work hard for all my grades;

work hard on sports I play.

I am not sure if both combined will be enough;

in this economy, getting any money is very tough.

My teacher needs to go back to school, this time let me

be the instructor, and him see what it's like to feel like a fool.

Hard work and being persistent is all I can do,

besides send up a prayer that I get the money to

continue to go to school.

In all aspects I need to thank my teacher for his instructing

being worthless, now I truly understand what hard work is.
