Leather Bound

It takes me back to happy time
An escape from the realities
That leave me in a crippled state of mind
But the words that fill my mind, heal it with kisses kind

They can take me anywhere
Past, future, a crime scene, an apocalypse, a lovers embrace, or a time in space
Here or there
There's no limit to it

Such saccharine melodies from the crisp turn of its pages
Such a sweet smell over the ages
How it fills me with such splendor at the sight of it
A key to the knowledge of man, fiercely knitted, which in imagination's keep seems unlimited

How I find such joy
In the jubilant and splendid pages of a tome so old
Or a novel so new, and only for we few
How wonderful they are
Those page bound items that on shelves they may never touch the ground

But in my hands it may find towns that do surround

Yes, there is a little a doubt

That I could not possibly walk about

Without my text of pleasure, plenty, and peace
