You said you wanted to talk

But you haven’t said a word

It’s been a week

I don’t know what you seek

It’s driving me crazy

The thought of you makes me queasy, uneasy

It leaves me with anxiety

Which steals the breath from my lungs

The happiness from my thoughts

Leaves me to overthink the what if’s

The awkwardness is settling between us

It seems to be becoming a constant

Neither of us utters a word, the silence is becoming natural

Replacing the laughter that was always lurking

Our eyes rarely meet

The desk becoming my fixation just to avoid you

You’ll be gone soon

You're going back to where you came

It hurts that it's so easy for you to leave

That you are so eager to get out

I’m getting left behind again

When will this vicious cycle end?

I am suffering from your silence as it slices open old wounds

Sounds of agony whisper silently from my smile

Keep it inside to keep it from you

I won’t show you my pain

I won’t give you the satisfaction of knowing you affected me

I can promise you one thing

You won’t like me when I’m mean
