Leave it Behind

A silent obscure night it was The decrepit lady down the ally she walked Bums and rats on both her sides And behind she sensed someone who stalked. The ticking and the pacing was heard Introspecting eyes the lady felt Swiftly turning around to check She had no idea with what she dealt Terrifying, horrible, haunting, and tough What was behind her was ready to swallow How can the past be so rough? Creeping in and making her so hollow. From the neck, down her spine to her feet, Chills would dominate her, would not let her move For deep down she knew she had to stay To fight the past she had to remove. Terrifying, horrible, haunting, and tough What was behind her was ready to swallow How can the past be so rough? Creeping in and making her so hollow. A gentle redolent fragrance Crossed through her mind Cause she thought about her future And decided to leave her past behind.

This poem is about the past and the future. It shows how the past can be a burden to a person when they dont deal with it and leave it behind. Looking at the future and the opportunities ahead change the course in life towards a brighter tomorrow.
