Leave Me, Then
I thought you cared,
I thought I mattered.
But you left,
And the voices got louder.
I still see the creatures,
They still haunt my dreams.
I've slept two days this month,
Nothing's ever what it seems.
Death is what I desire,
But not what I need.
You used to keep me safe,
You used to hold me tight.
Now I'm scared and alone,
This doesn't feel right.
I'm tired,
I'm hurt,
And you don't care.
I'm hurting,
In pain,
This isn't fair.
If this is the last time we speak,
Just know my love for you,
It hasn't faded.
But my trust in you,
It's dead in a grave.
You've hurt me,
You ripped my heart to shreds.
Now I'm silent,
Encasing myself in lead.
No one can breach this shield,
I am now protected.
But what will happen,
When I fall in love again?
Will my heart be repared,
Then broken again?
These questions,
I know they have no weight.
I won't give up.
I won't cry,
I'll just wait.
Waiting for the day I die.
Maybe happiness will be achieved,
Maybe my heart will stop it's ache.
Let's hope for the best,
And silently live the rest of my days.
