Leave You Behind

It's been a long time

Since I've believed in you

It's been too long

Since I turned to you to heal this hurt

I don't recall

I can't remember

When I began running from you

A maze

An endless game

That I'll never win

And looking at you now

I know you'll never win your way back in

I feel bad

For not feeling bad anymore

I've walked away

Locked that door

Moved on

Maybe I wasn't strong then

But I am now

And somehow

I survived you

I made it through

It was never easy loving you

But I did the best I could

And I would give all I had

To feel just a little bad

Leaving you behind

But I'm tired

And can't lose anymore time

So you can have whatever it is you're after

You can keep all the memories

Of you and me

More than half of them ended in tears

With you

Leaving track marks

All over my heart

So take them all

You can keep everything

You think you need

When we both know

It's me

You still want

But whatever love I felt for you

Died a long time ago

And now I know

You were never it for me

And I hate how much time it took

For me to see

So come what may

You can shake

And break me

You can turn every page

And try to find a happy ending

Where you and I

Make it out alive

I wish I felt anything

Just enough to give you something

To pull you through

But the truth is

You killed whatever was between us

And now

I'm ready

To leave you behind
