Leave/relieved

A month of last experiences Going away parties with your brothers Bubbles, cries, and harmonies A drumbeat reminiscent of your heart It feels like you’re already gone One day you’ll wonder why you didn’t take her Was it a relief to leave? Did you have this up your sleeve? The big night, the fireworks The sunlight the morning after A line of bows and cheers The speeches bringing you to tears The music of a generation Bring us together like 200 lovers And great but all they are is faithful covers It feels like you’re already gone One day you’ll wonder why you didn’t take her Today you and she will know What it looks like with the snow You spent five years just wondering “what is that city like in spring?” If you keep it a secret It’s like it never existed You’re probably relieved it’s over Don’t forget That I see everything. Don’t doubt it, That I see everything. And when you’re finally alone (which you will be) when you’ve made it your home do you even think of me? Or were you just relieved.
