Leaves Rustling In The Wind

I remember a time when I was younger and rid of sin, Such a beautiful memory Leaves rustling in the wind Gazing outside of the window staring off into nothingness Nonetheless I am blessed because I have a window to stare out of Leaves rustling in the wind People grow, their colors change They become greedy, needy and expect you to do the impossible 3 months later and they no longer know you, their artificialness is unstoppable. But you, you never left me, sold me, or used me. You guided me to the path where I can give thanks for what I have. Leaves rustling in the wind I am older now with a family of my own Never too old, never too grown to feel the scars that didn't heal, the pain's the same But I'm used to it Does it hinder my success? I chose to abandon my nest and seek guidance from you wise tree, don't you see? Leaves rustling in the wind I am gone now I lye in peace as I know that my life was given away, recycled. You lived in me, now I live for you. I will carry on your legacy. I am glad you were the death of me. I'm now the comforting sound that consoles a midnight cry. I will never be like you but I can surely try. I've descended from you, I am of your kin. I am now the leaves rustling in the wind.
