Leaving

I was touring a college.

It seemed perfect, right up my alley on what I want to work on. It had everything I wanted.

Except one thing, being close to home.

If I were to accept being there, I would have to leave my friends, family, town and memories.

Being across the country would mean I would be all alone with no one to help me break the ice.

I think about this every time I go to a college out of state.

I was scared at first, but soon had to accept that I could no longer stay in the nest.

I had to explore for myself.

There would plenty of trial and error one discovering, but that is the fun in it.

Thinking back, to when I was young, and always stayed inside afraid, I would tell him to explore.

It does not matter if you get hurt or are scared, you can always come home.

I will leave soon enough, I just wish it will not be dificult for everyone to say goodbye.

I'll be back.
