Leaving Her Behind
Where am I?
I am familiar with being alone
But this place chills me to the bones.
The never ending ocean engulfs this interruption in the placid water,
And the foliage suffocates me in its humid embrace, unlike her.
How did I get here?
My heart stops in fear.
A voice tells me I can make one thing appear,
And my decision is abundantly clear.
Where am I?
I have lost love for material things
Now that her love has entered my veins.
She encompasses everything I have ever desired
And has permitted me to remain inspired.
In my moments of pure sorrow
She opened my eyes to see a better tomorrow.
Being stranded would not be so scary
If I had her in my arms to always carry.
Where does the answer lie?
I want her here with me
But it would be a crime to not allow her to be free.
A beautiful, talented girl like her should experience the real world,
And not be stuck in this false dreamworld.
I have decided that I wish to bring nothing to me,
I care about others more than my desires to be happy.
