Leaving The Nest

I knew that someday I'd have to leave

When I told my parents they wouldn't believe

I'd have to set out on my own
I couldn't wait and I couldn't postpone
I was going to a new school filled with new faces
I was going to get a better education and travel to new places
I thought my first day would be rough
But all I had to do was be brave and tough
After school, all my nervous feelings subsided
And I realized that my two worlds had collided
Yesterday I was being bullied and pushed around
Today I am spreading my wings and leaving the ground
I am going wherever my dreams take me
I can be whoever I want to be
