Left

I am the one step off from the march, The only right in a sea of lefts-- "Left, left, left, right, left." The "Other" side of the spectrum. Where is your social justice, O lovers of all, When the minority is me? Does my love of Tea and country Incite such intolerance and hate? I am silent, as the whip descends again From your rhetoric and lies. Screaming inside, I bear the pain, The ignorance, and I pray-- Your vision comes in red or blue, Never in all three patriotic hues. How can a group so welcoming Judge us by the color of beliefs? I am patient, waiting for you to lift the veil And see the world through the Third Eye. I cannot apologize for my trust In Blazes and Foxes over Peacocks-- Can you not feel Her falling, Calling Her people to choose Her future destiny, bleeding, As each leaf turns to rot? I am the one step off from the march, The only right in a sea of lefts-- Listen to the footsteps as you crunch Her, One whip, one lie, one step at a time.
