Legacy

Legacy. It’s what you leave behind. Be careful of the things you drag behind It could be a purpose; An envision that last’s a lifetime. It could be a bad thing What lasts a lifetime in disguise. And then there’s me. What is my purpose, who am I? I do not contribute much to society. I have no purple hearts Letters of freedom Or was a soldier in any war But I do possess one thing: Compassion. I’m sometimes too nice and too sincere Just call me a Pushover Paul. When people ask me for food I cave in and let them have it. But sometimes people don’t take me for granted. For instance my bus buddies. I hope i left an impression on my bus friends. I give them food. I crack jokes. I’m socially awkward. But in retrospect, these friends rock Even though they’re underclassmen, They get me. They see me everyday. Our stories never get old. They’ve been there for me. And I’ve been there for them. With A snap of the fingers, I’m already there. I owe them. Thank you for the appreciation Gentle heartedness Good times. They cherish me, I believe. Or at least that’s what i hope for. The implication could be misunderstood. But then again, it’s human nature for change to come. They grow up, get their licenses. And then drive to school. And never ride the bus ever again. I hope I left an impression on them. As a senior, I may never see them again. I hope I left a legacy to the underclassmen. Thank you underclassmen. You will always be reflected. I hope I left a legacy. By all means no to just the underclassmen. but on myself. Who am I? What do I want to accomplish. What do I do? I give blood I play horn I work at my church. But that’s not enough. Something’s gotta give! What if I blink and suddenly turn 80. My clock is officially running out. What will I do before I kick it? Everything. Everything imaginable that suits me. Visiting every high school enjoyable to me in MN: Eagan, Bloomington Kennedy, Richfield. I want to feel like I’m accomplished. And left a legacy for the generation to come. A dark crimson hue as i picture it Hovering over the sunset sky. I remembrance of me. And once this is all completed. I will be ready to go Peacefully. And willingly.
