Lemonade and Baseball

The devil hides his eyes in watermelon
So that children are reminded on summer days
that there is still something you can choke on

He followed me home in the blanket summer night
Possessed every harp player I called beautiful
and made me watch as they also burned

The birds are chirping but someone is
Screaming
He is sitting next to me all leather jacket
Teenage
Whispering freckled lies about my
Brother
Trying to hold my sticky syrup hand like soda cup
Roulette
He put a heartbeat in my scrambled
Eggs
Made the flute players fall on their faces

Worst of all he wont stop whispering
Nothing to do Nothing to do
Nothing to do
