Leo

I am chained in a cage. Exposed and vulnerable like a nerve.

But the joke is on them.

I may be trapped, but I'm not a captive.

The fire in me would make Hades run for the hills.

My eyes more piercing than the sword of Troy.

They put a lion in a cage made of sticks.

The sheep, holding the predator captive.

I laugh.

I am Leo. I am the Lion. Born under the intense heat of the summer sun. I am strength, fire and war.

I am Power.

The blood in me boils hot as the tempers of aztecian warriors.

Just let them try to hold me.

I am a senior in High School and I just write poetry as an outlet for expression when an emotion I'm feeling is too intense for tears or laughter to remedy.
