Leslea Newman

I once heard Leslea Newman speak,

She told us to close our eyes,

To imagine a world without hurt,

A world completely safe.

I closed my eyes,

I tried to Imagine.

I tried to dream.

It was no good.

How could I imagine a world,

Without hate or rape,

A street without danger,

A town without crime.

She had good intentions,

In my heart I knew.

But I just couldn't do,

What she wanted us to do.
