Lesson
By: Ashley Murray

Trying to find a way out of here
Tired of feeling like you’re lesser than nothing
You want to become something
People always trying put you down
Talking behind your back
Not telling you the truth
Instead they tell you what I want to here
Why can’t they just be real wit you
But they always talking about you can do better
However they’re the ones who are pushing you to the bottom
Then you got all the boys out here
That don’t know the meaning of a condom
Sisters I see you out their trying to live your life
We got to stand together in order for anything to get right
Don’t let these boys make you seem lesser than what you are
Your a dime piece, a shining star
Fellows stop trying act hard and doing stupid stuff
Because what you want to become in a life will just a an imaginary wish
But I know sometimes its life
It’s the way you live
But you don’t have to keep living that way
Become a leader and find a way out
Unless you want to be a follower and get left in a drought
Older Sisters be like Harriet Tubman
Show these young sisters the right way to do things
Or they might end up in a ditch doing the wrong things
Hold their hand
Tell them they can be somebody
Because sometimes life will knock them down and they
Might want know how to hop back up
Fellows be like Martin Luther King Jr.
And have success
Instead of going around messing wit every girl you see
And you having sex
Be a man and set examples for what a real man is
To these younger fellows
Stop leaving these girls heartbroken
And sometimes leaving them with a baby
Treat them like a queen
And they may treat you like a king
It takes two to be in a relationship
You don’t leave the other one hanging
And you go do your own thing
You stick together for thick and thin
However got to keep yawl heads up and work together
Because our generation now is just
An example of disaster
Yes, I know we all make mistakes
But we need to learn from them also
Don’t just keep doing the same thing over and over
And expect to get away with it
You face consequences in life
Stop using the fact that your young
That just some BS
I realize you understand you learn “YES and NO”
At the age of 2
Ladies we have freedom a speech so use it
Don’t let anyone take advantage of you
Fellows you understand that life is short
So why go around trying to make your life end faster
Than it already is
We all need to change our ways
Before it becomes too late
Think about it
And you will see
Don’t you imagine your name going on in history?
Have Success
Be Smart
Have a heart
Before your life never starts.
