Lesson

Lesson

letting go

Your face

the warm glow of the sun

A feeling of joy, belonging and family.
Things
heard “I love you”, “You’re my best friend”,

And then the leaving...

The acute

The absence

promises fly with a force that is gravity

tempting to follow

into the silence,

the quiet that is in that space,

the waiting,

the loneliness.

And think all one has to do is to let go....

easy right?
“Just let go.” but

the awkward execution

painful and consuming,

but practice

the grip does ease

the want does ebb.

In the void

peace.

Earned and lasting.
