Lessons Among the Music

Words are simply words

floating through eternity waiting to slice into someone's ears

Waiting to be caught by someones heart

only to sting them and strike the roots of their very being

Music is an expert in crawling upon those who are longing for infinite happiness

infinite success

infinite love

I may not read countless texts surrounded by scholars and bookworms

But I engulf my soul in the notes and tunes which reach the depth of my insecurities

Things that I can not face in an empty room where my thoughts lie vulnerable

Music has taught me how to let go of the ridicule and judgement

To feel shameless in wanting childish or possibly selfish things

I sit and allow  the lyrics to drip through my earbuds towards my eardrums

Like an IV healing and nourishing a wounded patient

Opening up my mind and allowing the music to reveal certain parts of my conciousness

I take in the harsh realities of those songs

I dive into promises that have been made to me

That I will find myself

That I will find love

That I will use these words that are so simple yet powerful to teach those of the future

With that I thank music
