Lessons From My Rogue of a Sister

Being small means everyone underestimates you -

Use that to your advantage.

In a world of Capybaras, be a Porcupine.

Laughter is the best cure for sadness,

Ice cream is a close second.

People build fences for what they can’t control,

Shred their attempts to define you.

Always have Febreeze and a box of matches close by.

Never pick favorites - when one sister is annoying

You can complain with the other.

Getting dirty isn’t the end of the world

If it means getting the job done.

Words can definitely hurt you - catching them

And burning them is more satisfying than letting them hit you.

Mud is the best camouflage.

“You Idiot!” means ‘I love you’.

T.A. Gerdes

I am on the young side of my life, challenging myself in college with a double major in the humanities and education for highschool. Am I crazy? Yes, some have referred to me as such - but what's the fun in not taking a leap of faith? I'm looking ahead, seeing what I could be as a teacher, writer, and hopefully - poet. We'll see on that last one... but it is an aspiration of mine to chase.
