Lessons. Real Lessons
Lessons will always be learned,
and new things will always be taught.
However, poetry gives a certain experience
that other things simply cannot.
The most important thing that can be drawn from poetry
is something about yourself.
It can tell you about science to geometry
but your heart takes the top shelf
I did not understand that before,
and did not know how high I could soar.
I did not understand the leaps and bounds
that writing such as poetry could achieve.
I have discovered more about my personality,
and was able to separate imagery with reality.
It gives me a degree of sustainability,
knowing that I can perform to the best of my ability.
Having a sense of confidence is undefeated.
Poetry gave me a boost that I didn't know I needed.
I learned a valuable lesson right from within,
and now I exude pride with a strong chin.
When I write, something great comes from it.
A finished product is something I am proud of.
writing is now a tool I use to show of skills,
and with these skills I can traverse valleys and conquer hills.
Now I walk and talk with my head held up high.
The timid days of the past are long gone.
When I put my mind to it, I can reach the sky.
Poetry has helped me, understand me.
