Teach me to hope

Teach me to forgive

Teach me to love

Teach me to live.

Lord I get caught up in myself and go on a downward spiral,

Lord I need the truth of your gospel, not my opinions, to go viral.

Things I do and say can hurt and dismay.

Lord remind me to seek and pray.

Teach me to have peace

Teach me not to fear

Teach me to have confidence in Christ 

Lord you are always near.

Teach me discipline

Teach me self-control

I can't hold on to everything, I have to let it go.

Teach me to keep my life in line with your word,

Remind me of the power of your name the sweetest name ever heard.

Teach me that I have freedom because of your sacrifice,

Teach me that I need not focus any longer on pain and strife.

Help me to hold on to you,

Your word and your love are forever true,

Through the power of your Holy Spirit I am continually renewed.
