Let go
How could you easily let go
the one thing you said you love
without a protest
without a fight
and leave it there broken
walking away.
You say it hurt you to release your grasp
but what is joy without pain?
The things you love most
are the very things you must fight for
otherwise the problems of this world
will simply blow it out of your hand
if you're unwilling to even tighten your grasp.
So when the winds came
and you had to choose between
pain and love
or
freedom and emptiness
you chose your path:
no fight
no pain.
And the words of your love
only now fall flat
next to the broken problem you released
