Let Go

I have to let go.

Your words are short and few.
My time is spent waiting. Always waiting. Waiting.
Years of waiting.

I have endured disappointment, sadness, loneliness.
I have to let go…

No more wasted days with my head in the clouds
And no more wasted nights filled with tears and angry thoughts
Years have been wasted from waiting

And I don’t even know you!

You are a stranger, we met by chance.
It's easier this way.
It's easier to trust a stranger.

This is my fault.
Of course it’s my fault.

I kept my faith in a stranger.
I told myself I loved a stranger.
No, I love a stranger.

It is now time to let go.
