Let Go

Can this wall be broken down? Can this pain ever go away? I've tried and tried with all the prayers and lectures It just always seems to come back. Though I may be struggling with whether I want to take my next breath the next day I find someway to put my game face on Greet my friends, family, acquaintances, church members with a fake smile Everything fake Fake Friends Fake Teachers And even FAKE family members Did they try to comfort me when I was hurt by one of their own Did they try to get me help? No They thought I was lying Lier Lier Lier Was all I heard. Why would a little girl so innocent want to lie about something so brutal? That incident scarred me forever. My depression was so easy to disguise It was until I finally was able to tell someone that people realized what was really going on. Having guys ask me..are you a virgin. As soon as I hear those words it feels like that person hammered my heart. Something that was taken away that I could never get back. After telling my mother what happened I saw tears in her eyes. They weren't tears of sorrow They were tears of regret All she could ask herself was "why"? Why could go on forever. I've chosen not to let this pain take over every aspect of my life Time to move on Time to take that step forward Time to forget the past Time to live my life Without regret.....
