Let Go to Grow

Friends come and go

like kites in the wind

but we refuse to accept

the message that it sends

we want to cherish

the person we meet

but they don't acknowledge us

and it's not very sweet

it's important to let others go

because it helps you grow

but when we stay with them

we are trapped in their spell

in order for plants to grow

they need to break out of their shell

the "friends" are the shell

letting you suffer in torturous hell

it's important to remember

that looks are deceiving

you can test the waters

but you must not sink in

we don't know what's poison and what's not

we don't know the inside of others

and once we start drowning in the pot

it's hard to get out and not rot

so take it from me

that what you see

is not always

what it seems

but it's important to play the scene

and rewind it

again and again

before you star in the play

and get stuck on the screen

before it's too late.
