Let it End This Way

If this world was meant for spinning

Then why’s it turning the wrong way?

Fighting for its right to say

Please just let it end this way.

Past footsteps have been erased,

All evidence forgotten and destroyed

Why are we just sitting here?

Just letting it end this way.

Our fire is burning low,

But it’s still burning on

Like others couldn’t before

We won’t let it end this way.

I thought we could change the past

But all its bringing is torture

I wish that we could rewind

To understand why it’s ending this way!

Lies on top of more lies

It’s unlike any surprise

That we won’t fight for the truth

But won’t let it end this way either!

So were fighting, but were losing yet again...

And were wishing, for what could’ve been, but won’t ever see...

And with the sun setting in the distance, and the world turning wrong

We’ll never, ever, ever... let it end this way.
