Let it go

Im the type of person that holds onto things way to tight, Unable to release my grip when it no longer feels right. I wanna wake up just once and not have to hit the brakes, But sometimes holding on is worth the pain it takes. So today I let go of some things I held dear, And suddenly my soul was much lighter and was no longer filled with fear. Today I let go of some things and it surely didnt bring to me a smile, But I figured why hang on to them if they just weren't worth my while. My expectations no longer out wieghed the cost, And it doesnt mean everything I lose has to be a loss. I was worried that by losing things I would lose a part of me too, But the things Ive had to let go today my heart no longer knew. So today I'll step a little easier and Im not hung up on my past, Ive learned a valuable lesson today only hold onto things that last. Mike Ronk
