Let it Out
For once I want be heard;
Speaking my mind with the following words:
Tossed aside and laid out to dry;
I try to get by.
Left alone to care for my disabled parent;
relatives don't bother with us...how so arrogant!
It's been 4 years,
inside I've shed so many tears.
Lost my way,
only to live day by day.
I never did anything wrong.
so why do things continue to go wrong?
Losing the hope I once had;
but never the desire - which makes me mad!
Wishing that one day things will change,
but there is always something in exchange.
Caught between living my dream and reality,
maybe I should take a dead end job salary?
For once I want things to go right;
so there will be light within my sight.
One can only pray,
but God isn't here to stay.
College isn't something I can pay.
Maybe I should throw it away?
Why did I enter this $1000 Contest;
that won't even cover the cost of attendance?
