Let me be only who I am
Let me be what I wish to be
Let me be something other than nature's ink on my skin
Let me speak
Let me speak loud and clear
Let me speak in your town halls and churches
Let me speak my words from the mountaintops for all to hear
Let me live
Let me live free from fear
Let me live just as everyone else
Let me live with my head held high and my face to the sun
I ask only that you
