Let Me Be Your Drumpad

Let me be your drum-pad.

Beat me, use me, and abuse me

As long as we're making music.

Practice your flams, paradiddles, and rolls

As long as you promise me a 7/8 swing.

Bounce your ideas and doodles off me

As long as you don't raise your sticks too high.

I will take your off beat rhythms and scattered improvisations

As long as we are making music.

Traditional or matched grip,

It doesn't matter,

As long as you strike from your wrist.

Raise your elbow and show off your style,

But remember our goal is to make music.

I can't live without your music.
