Let Me Forget You
You were never supposed to be this addictive
I think about you much to often
To the point where even my self conscious feels ownership of you
When I know I'm not even a passing thought in your mind
I am hopelessly in love with you
But to you... I'm a joke
A laugh
A nothing
You are my world
My stars
My sun and moon
My everything
I could spend months building a barrier to chain in my devotion
But you would give me one word
One glance
And the wall would fall and I would be yours again
Tears would soak my pillow on late nights
But you hadn't the slightest idea
And even if you did
You would feel embarrassed
Ashamed
Because I am not your 'ideal'
Yet, no matter what
I would blindly come back
You have ripped my heart out and left it to rot
And I would pick it up, clean it off and hand it right back to you
Naturally it would make sense to hate you
But I don't
Which makes the pain much more agonizing
I can't stand going day by day knowing I will never have you as my own
I will never have that stupid smile
I will never have those warm inviting eyes
I will never feel that body pressed against mine
I will never hear those lips say those beautiful words I will forever long for
Just for one day. Love me.
Just for one hours. Give your body over to me.
Just for one minute. Kiss me like there is no tomorrow.
Just for one moment. Understand my pain.
Since the minute I met you I've been enslaved
I need to forget you and move on
Because I know
There is no happy ending in the melancholy reality
